Phase III
Finalist Teams
Deliverable: Revised Business Plan
The finalist teams with the highest evaluations from the Phase II judges will advance to compete in the finals for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd best overall venture idea. Taking into account the feedback from the Phase II judges, teams will improve/build on their current business plan and submit their revised plan to the judges by Midnight, April 3. Please email your business plan to Bryce Davis (bryce.davis@duke.edu). The criteria for the revised business plan is the same as that for the Phase II competition.
Deliverable: Panel Presentations
The finalist teams will give 10 minute presentations (strict time limit) followed by 5-10 minutes Q&A to 4 different panels of judges in mid-late April (April 12, 2008). The judging panels represent a diverse collection of entrepreneurial expertise from a highly regarded team of venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, lawyers and service providers to the entrepreneurial community.
Deliverable: Trade Show Presentations
Finalist teams are required to participate in the trade show presentations (see details below), which will be factored into the overall rankings for the finalist awards; however, the finalist teams are not eligible for the trade show prizes. In situations of a tie, the committee will make the tie-breaking decision based on the votes obtained from Challenge attendees and judges in the finals trade show.
Deliverable: Elevator Pitch
During the Final Awards ceremony, the finalist teams will give a 2 minute elevator pitch to the Challenge audience.
Non-Finalist Teams and Finalist teams
Deliverable: Trade Show Presentations (OPEN TO ALL DUKE ENTREPRENEURS)
The non-finalist teams will get the continued opportunity to present their ideas to the final round judges, outside professionals and members of the community who will be in attendance the day of the Finals. Each team will create their own venue (e.g. poster, live demonstration, or both) that highlights the most important aspects of their business. Each team will pitch their business concept to the final round judges and Challenge attendees who will vote for the best presentations based on the following criteria. Please sign up for the trade show by April 2 by submitting the following information through this link:
